MORE than 51,000 passengers travelled through Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) last weekend as the summer getaway began.
The school summer holidays started in earnest with passengers using the Yeadon site (pictured) to fly across the world, including 70 direct destinations across 26 countries, for the figures which ran between Friday, July 21, and Sunday, July 23.
This resulted in another record breaking week – with more than 113,000 people travelling through over seven days.
David Laws, LBA chief executive, said: “Our teams are fully prepared and looking forward to a busy summer ahead; their job is to start and end every passenger’s journey in a fantastic way and we are certainly focused on doing this.”
