A STUNT motocross team is revving up to be one of the attractions at this year’s action-packed Bingley Show.

The freestyle team, Bolddog Lings, will perform jumps of up to 75ft in the air at the show, which will take place on Saturday, July 22, between 9am and 6pm, at Myrtle Park.

The Norfolk-based squad will be making their debut at the event, now in its 136th year, with shows at noon and 2.30pm. A crowd of between 8,000 and 10,000 is expected to attend.

The event will also feature more traditional agricultural show attractions including a sheep show, which teaches visitors about the different types of sheep breeds found in the UK, and a shearing demonstration.

A number of competitive classes will also take place at the show including ones for rabbits, cattle, sheep, handicrafts and horticulture.

Showjumping events will also form a key attraction at the event, with top riders and their horses taking to the main ring. The showjumping begins at 9am and returns later in the afternoon for the accumulator.

David Hempel, vice-chairman of event organisers Airedale Agricultural Society, said: “Bolddog Lings are something a bit different.

“They are not the sort of thing you will see perform in Bingley very often.

“The show would appeal to people who want to look at the core agricultural exhibits and those who want to see the thrills and spills of motorcycles.”

The show will also have a sporting feel with a mini-rugby demonstration which will include players from Bradford Salem RFC’s under nines team in the main ring at 1.15pm.

People can also take part in the Bingley Harriers 10k run, which starts in the show’s main ring at 11.30am. The route goes around Bingley and St Ives. Race entrance is £9, which includes free entry to the show to all who pre-enter by the closing postal entry date of July 16. Entries on the day, priced £4, will be accepted but free entry to the show cannot be provided. For more information, go to bingleyharriers.co.uk/events/bingley-show-trail-race.
