THERE is just one week left for art fans to catch an acclaimed exhibition by a Chinese photographer in a city centre Gallery.

Mother River by Yan Wang Preston opened in Impressions Gallery in City Park in late March, and the exhibition ends on Saturday.

The photos that make up the exhibition are images taken along the entire length of the Yangtze, often known as China’s Mother River, over a four year period.

Preston used a large-format field camera, the kind used by nineteenth century explorers, and a strict Y Points System to photograph the river every 100 kilometres.

Commissioned in partnership with Gallery of Photography Ireland, the exhibition is part of a six month season of Chinese culture at the gallery, looking at links between the UK and China.
