TWO people were taken to hospital after a flat fire in Bradford in the early hours of this morning.
Fire crews from Bradford and Odsal were called to an address on Kenton Way, Holmewood, at around half past midnight.
Initial reports suggested that someone may have been inside the ground floor flat that was on fire, but on arrival, crews found the property to be empty.
Smoke from the blaze spread into the stairwells of the building and into the flat above, occupied by two ladies in their 50s.
They both suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to hospital by ambulance.
The pair had called the emergency services after being alerted to the blaze by smoke detectors in their flat.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this stage.
