BRADFORD City’s bid for play-off final success has been given civic support.

The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Abid Hussain, has backed the Bantams as they gear up for their League One clash against Millwall at Wembley on Saturday.

He said: “I want to wish Bradford City and all its supporters the best of luck in the play-off match this Saturday.

“I have every confidence in the team and their manager.

“The club have done so well and their supporters always do the city proud. Let’s hope that they can pull it off and bring the trophy back to Bradford.”

The clock tower on City Hall, the fountains in City Park and the archways at Forster Square Railway Station will be lit in the team colours from Friday night over the weekend. There will also be Bradford City flags flying in Centenary Square.

Bradford Council staff are being encouraged to show their support for the team by wearing Bradford City shirts, scarves or dressing in claret and amber on Friday and raising money for the club’s official charity, the Burns Unit Appeal.
