A NEW charity dedicated to feeding the homeless has made its first handout of food in the city centre.
Creating Smiles - every life matters, has been started by Keighley man Raz Hussain and will be officially launched in June.
“We started the project off tonight, Friday, with 10 volunteers walking around Bradford handing out hot food, hot drinks and clothing to the homeless. It is something we feel we need to do because as our slogan says: every life matters.
“We have been contacting people and busineses through Facebook and social media and lots have said they will help. We are fortunate that there are so many kind people willing to give their time.”
Jinnah restaurant, in Leeds Road, Bradford has provided the food.
Owner Saleem Akhtar said he was approached to see if he would sponsor the food. “I was delighted to help and my chef has produced food of the same quality we serve to our customers. It is for an extremely worthy cause and we are delighted to be involved. I wish Creating Smiles every success.”
