A RESTAURANT unit in Manningham could be converted into a take away if new plans submitted to Bradford Council are approved.
Amer Hussain says the proposed take away, at 68-70 Manningham Lane and currently the Istanbul Shawarma restaurant, would “tie in seamlessly” with other similar businesses on the road.
The three storey unit, opposite the Job Centre, has been a restaurant since the mid 70s, and became Istanbul Shawarma in July 2015.
The planning application says the change will lead to minimal alterations to “help preserve the special character and appearance of the building and maintain or improve its quality.”
It adds: “It is felt the proposed change to create a take away ties in seamlessly with other similar units in the vicinity.”
A decision will be made in June.
