CREWS were called to a car fire in Allerton early this morning.

One pump from Fairweather Green fire station attended the blaze in Ryedale Way at about 6.20am.

Firefighters found a silver Vauxhall Corsa ablaze in the residential street, which was extinguished by the crew.

A spokesman for the station said: "The fire also caused superficial damage to three cars - a Vauxhall Astra, a Ford Focus, and a Citroen - which were all parked nearby."

No one was injured in the fire.
