CHILDREN in Shipley will be able to ride a bike for free through a Yorkshire Bank-supported scheme.
The bike library at Shipley Bikery, in Manor Lane, will offer free cycle loans for children and families.
It will also feature bike safety advice, affordable bike repairs, servicing, and led rides.
Shipley bike library has been set up by the Bradford-based Margaret Carey Foundation – a charity which gives prisoners the chance to learn new skills by repairing bikes and wheelchairs.
Old and unwanted bikes can be donated at the library which will be cleaned and repaired by prisoners before being loaned out to children and families who don’t have bikes of their own.
Helen Rowlands, MCF development manager, said: “We’re really excited about opening a Yorkshire Bank Bike Library in Shipley.”
