HEALTH and Social Welfare students Joanne Holroyd and Jodie Jones held a celebration day to bring in funds for a women’s charity in Bradford.
The pair, who are studying at Bradford College, are on placement with Bradford Women’s Aid and organised an event yesterday at Kala Sangam.
Women helped by the charity as well as professionals turned out to take part in the day which had stalls, information stands, henna, nail painting, a raffle and food.
Ms Holroyd said funds raised will go towards the charity’s work helping women who are experiencing domestic violence or who have experienced it.
Ms Holroyd added: “It’s been a good experience organising the event as part of our placement, we’ve learned a lot. We hope funds from the women’s day will help the charity do even more for the women who need its support.”
To make a donation to Bradford Women’s Aid, send a cheque made payable to Bradford Women’s Aid to: PO Box 1102, Bradford, BD1 9NG.
