GENEROUS Morrisons staff at their headquarters in Gain Lane, Bradford, have raised vital funds for Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal through the purchase of the charity’s symbolic brooches.

A group of staff went along to the Bradford hospice yesterday to hand over the cash with the promise much more is on the way.

Sharon Link, community fundraiser for Marie Curie in Bradford said: “We can’t thank Morrisons enough for supporting this year’s Great Daffodil Appeal. They have made a real difference in terms of helping us to provide care and support to more people affected by terminal illness.”

Joseph Clark-Bland, Morrisons’ charity and community specialist, added: “It has been a real honour to raise money for Marie Curie as the hospice in Bradford holds a special place in our hearts. We as a company are passionate about giving back to causes that are important to us and our customers.”

Collections were made at the supermarket’s 490 stores across the country on March 10, 11 and 12. The total raised will be announced as soon as counting is complete.
