PEOPLE in Brighouse and Rastrick can have their say tomorrow over dozens of potential development sites which could be included in the district’s Local Plan.

The plan is a development blueprint for the whole of Calderdale and will eventually outline land for housing, employment and other uses for 17 years.

Assessments show around 16,000 new homes would be needed during the lifetime of the plan.

A Local Plan working party meeting tomorrow will give people the chance to have their say about 12 possible housing and employment sites in Brighouse and 14 in Rastrick, as well as a number of rejected sites.

The meeting takes place at Halifax Town Hall from 12.30pm, and will lead to an agreed list being released for consultation at a later date.

The plan is expected to be in place towards the end of next year.
