A PARTNERSHIP between a Bradford chemical firm and the British Heart Foundation has raised more than £4,500 for the charity in the past 12 months.

Staff from BASF Bradford got involved by helping to organise, participate in and sponsor a number of events, including Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, health events, Christmas events, cake sales and raffles.

Joanne Love from the Low Moor site, said: “Our global health theme for 2106 was healthy heart which is why we chose the BHF as our charity. Throughout the year, our employees really took the opportunity to get involved to raise as much money as we could for the BHF which is an important charity for many of us at the Bradford site.”

Sue Green, fundraising manager at the BHF, added: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped make our partnership with BASF such a success.

"Heart disease is an urgent problem. Too many lives are lost to heart and circulatory conditions each year, and the money raised from this partnership will play a crucial role in helping us find new ways to help keep more hearts beating."

Around 7 million people are currently living with cardiovascular disease in the UK and the funds raised by BASF will help support the BHF’s research into preventing and treating these devastating conditions.
