FIRST Bradford swapped buses for buns and raised £600 at a charity cake sale.
Employees at the company’s Bowling Back Lane depot in Bradford made cupcakes, brownies and sponges, as well as hot drinks, in exchange for donations for Prostate Cancer UK.
First Bradford’s Caroline Rhodes said: “It was a huge team effort to raise such a phenomenal amount of money in just one day. Everyone got behind our charity bake sale and we’re overwhelmed by the support. We’re proud to be helping such a worthwhile charity.”
James Beeby, director of fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK, said: “It’s great to see so many FirstGroup employees hosting Brew & Bake sales. As well as raising funds, this initiative will also raise awareness of a disease which affects one in eight men in the UK, and will hopefully get across an important health message.
“Our aim is to reach as many men as possible, and encourage them to take responsibility of their health. We thank the team at FirstGroup for helping us in the fight against prostate cancer.”
