THE FRIENDS of Devonshire Park will be branching out following the success of their autumn and winter tree walks.
The volunteer-run group hope to organise another series of walks around the Keighley park informing people about its history and nature.
But before then members will organise a family project that will include a children’s event in the park off Spring Gardens Lane.
Funding for the event will come from a new £1,000 grant from the Tesco Bags of Help fund.
Group spokesman Kate Toch said: “The ten lunchtime tree walks have been so popular, that we'll probably repeat them at some time, funds permitting.
“Some work with schools, using the park and the walks leaflet for creative inspiration, is ongoing.”
The Friends will host fruit tree propogation workshop on July 26 from 10am to noon, to teach people how to 'bud' onto rootstock.
