THEY are probably cluttering up your wardrobe and you are probably emotionally attached to them, but that pair of shoes you no longer wear could support a children's charity and earn you a £10 voucher at Schuh in Bradford's The Broadway shopping centre to boot.

Schuh's Sell Your Soles campaign supports Newlife, a charity for disabled children, by encouraging people to sell their old shoes to them in return for a voucher.

The shoes will go to the charity which recycles them to raise money to support disabled and terminally ill children across the UK.

Elizabeth Peacock, manager at Schuh's Bradford store, said: "This is a great opportunity to simultaneously clear out your wardrobe, raise some funds for a new pair of shoes and support a great charity.

"We can’t wait to start collecting shoes. We’re looking forward to handing out vouchers, but we are most excited about supporting a fantastic charity which makes such a difference to the lives of so many children and their families. The charity helps to fund itself through a unique recycling operation and the support of donors and fundraisers all over the UK, so this shoe donation drive is really important to us."

Ian Ward, general manager at The Broadway, added: "It’s a coup for us that Schuh has brought this campaign, which is running in just a select number of stores, to The Broadway. We are delighted that our shoppers will be able to benefit, and that we will all be able to get behind Newlife and the important work that it does. It goes hand-in-hand with our own pledge to support Bradford Hospitals Children’s Charity."

The Sell Your Soles campaign will run until March 26.
