A CAR was seized from an uninsured driver by police officers who were on a drinks break.
The two officers were on patrol in Harrogate Road, Eccleshill, when they popped into the Co-op to buy a drink.
As they left the shop, the pair spotted a man leaving the area in a red Citroen C3 (pictured) that they believed looked unroadworthy.
The officers checked the car and discovered the driver was not insured to drive it.
The vehicle was seized and the driver was reported for summons to court for driving offences.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: “Due to the driver not being insured his vehicle has been seized.
“Hopefully this will serve as a warning to him and, if nothing else, it was an expensive packet of cigarettes for him.”
