Detectives investigating an incident where a police officer and member of the public were shot at on Christmas Day have made four more arrests.

As part of their continuing enquiries into the shooting on Sackville Street early on Sunday, officers have arrested a second Bradford man on suspicion of attempted murder. He is currently in custody.

He was arrested from a car in Great Horton Road earlier today.

Three other men, all from Bradford, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and remain in custody.

Earlier today police revealed that a man they arrested yesterday on suspicion of attempted murder has been granted bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives are still looking to trace a further man who they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

Early on December 25, a police officer and a member of the public were shot at while police were interviewing witnesses to a disturbance outside the Krizma nightclub.

At around 4.43am two shots were fired towards a marked police vehicle from what is believed to be a black Seat Leon that was later found burnt out in Low Green Terrace in the Great Horton area of the city.

There were no serious injuries in the incident, although police said it "could have easily resulted in fatal consequences."

Police released footage of the shooting yesterday in a bid to track down those responsible.

Yesterday morning a 21 year old was arrested during a police raid at a property on Bromford Road in East Bowling. He was the man bailed earlier today.

A 19 year old man has been charged with assault in relation to the earlier disturbance.
