A sporting father and son team from Otley are preparing to walk the width of Ireland this summer to raise money for a cause close to their hearts.
Father Mark and son Joe Currie - a coach and a player, respectively, at Otley Town AFC - will trek 200 miles coast-to-coast, from Dublin to Clifden, in August.
The trip will raise funds for Pendleside Hospice Care for Burnley and Pendle.
Mr Currie senior said: "My dad died earlier this year of liver cancer and was cared for in the last three weeks of his life by the staff at Pendleside.
"We want to walk across Ireland as a lasting tribute to my dad, as well as raising as much money as we can to help a wonderful cause.
"The nursing staff and all at Pendleside were wonderful in making his last few weeks as comfortable as possible - something I will never forget.
"Walking across Ireland will be my way of doing something positive for a great charity, as well as being a lasting tribute to my dad."
Anyone who wishes to support Mark or Joe, who were both trophy winners at the football club's annual prize presentation, can get a sponsor form by calling 01943 466757 or find out more by visiting www.justgiving.com/markcurrie.
