FLOODING has reportedly led to some road closures in the Bradford district this morning causing delays for motorists.

The main affected areas are in Keighley and Cullingworth

The B6265 Skipton Road in Keighley is said to be closed in both directions due to flooding between the A629 Skipton Road at the Cliffe Castle Roundabout and Stoneycroft Lane.

High Street in Keighley, the A629, was closed earlier this morning due to flooding at the B6143 at Oakworth Road and Chapel Lane, but has now re-opened.

In Cullingworth, the A629 Halifax Road is reportedly closed in both directions due to flooding between the B6429 Manywells Brow and the B6144 Haworth Road.

The incidents are causing delays to bus services operating in the area.

Flood warnings remain in place this morning on sections of the Rivers Aire and Calder.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said it received around 60 calls yesterday afternoon and evening due to heavy rainfall across the region.

The majority of the incidents were reports of flooding in gardens and roads which were impassable due to flood water.

Crews from Bradford were called to Carlton Bolling College to divert flood water away from the area, and one person had to be rescued in the Otley area after their vehicle became stranded.

The adverse weather comes in the wake of Storm Angus, which caused flash flooding in parts of England and Wales.
