Bradford's social housing will be under scruitiny by experts from across the globe tomorrow.

The chief executive of Bradford Community Housing Trust (BCHT), Geraldine Howley, will lead a one-day tour of the city, showing the sights and sounds to executives from major housing bodies in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand and the United States.

BCHT was invited to lead the tour by the Chartered Institute of Housing which is holding its annual national conference in Harrogate this week.

The visit will demonstrate the district's history as well as showing off a number of BCHT housing schemes.

The tour will include a look at recently completed affordable' homes built by Firebird Homes - a partnership between BCHT and Manningham Housing Association.

The visitors will see the progress of the multi-million-pound transformation of the high-rise flats off Manchester Road.

They will also be shown around The Gatehaus, a private development of apartments and penthouses being built on the edge of Little Germany by Asquith Properties.

The tour will finish with a visit to the Bronte Parsonage in Haworth.
