The pitfalls and implications of inheritance tax are to be explained at a series of events by experts from Bradford-based Yorkshire Building Society.

YBS is hosting two events, at the Guide Post Hotel in Bradford and the Ramada Jarvis Hotel in Bingley to help delegates understand how they can avoid the controversial tax.

The Creating and Conserving Wealth seminars have been organised in association with Legal & General. Places are available for Yorkshire's customers and members of the public, but they are limited so early booking is necessary.

Claire Byrne, Yorkshire's branch manager in Wyke said: "Inheritance Tax used to be thought of as a tax of the rich, however with the recent rise in property values more individuals will leave their loved ones with a large tax bill rather than a nest egg.

"A recent survey showed that the number of people paying Inheritance tax rose by 72 per cent in the last five years - the seminars will provide individuals with information on how this liability to the taxman can be limited."

The 10.30am events will take place at the Guide Post on July 3 and the Ramada Jarvis on July 11.

Bookings can be made by calling 0845 1289432.
