The future of a snicket which residents blame as one of the main causes of criminal damage to their homes will be addressed at a meeting tomorrow.

Bradford Council's North Area Committee will discuss the problems surrounding the alleyway, which runs from Wharncliffe Drive to Hazelcroft in Eccleshill.

As reported in the Telegraph & Argus, residents in Hazelcroft, who are too frightened to be named, say their homes are persistently subjected to criminal damage.

One couple said they had been forced to put up chicken wire at the windows because vandals kept smashing the glass and trying to break in.

They said the increase in insurance costs and the pressure of living "under siege" was putting their health at risk.

Residents, police and councillors have now looked at the possibility of setting up a neighbourhood watch.

Officials decided at a previous Council meeting to keep the route open.

Tomorrow's meeting is at City Hall from 6pm.
