CHRISTMAS officially came to Bradford this morning as hundreds came to watch Santa and his reindeer travel through the city centre.
The Kirkgate Shopping Centre's reindeer parade marks the start of the city's festive celebrations, and despite cold and wet weather, families still came to get a glimpse of Father Christmas.
His ride through the city centre took in City Park and Sunbridge Road and ended with him making his way to his grotto in the Kirkgate Centre, where he will remain until Christmas Eve.
He was accompanied on his trip by Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Geoff Reid, six reindeer, including two baby reindeer, and the West Yorkshire Fire Brigade Band, who played festive tunes throughout the parade.
Guests of honour at the event were Holly-Mae Smith and Kiegan Townley (pictured), who won a colouring competition run by the shopping centre and got to accompany Santa on the parade in a grand carriage.
The event got everyone in the festive spirit despite the weather, and many families went straight from the parade to the free grotto.
