A FORMER block of town centre public toilets may find a second life as a cobbler’s shop and a cafe if new plans are approved.
The Market Square toilets in Shipley closed last year, despite strong local opposition, as part of Bradford Council budget cuts.
They were sold by the council at auction earlier this year for £94,000.
Now a planning application has been submitted by David Burton that would see the female toilet block split into a cobbler’s shop on one side and a cafe on the other.
The cafe would have a small outdoor seating area, and both businesses would have a toilet.
The plans say the businesses would create three jobs and see the building be refurbished.
A decision on the application is expected next month.
