A CRISP lover from Otley is asking for public support as she bids to land her “dream” job of becoming Seabrook’s first-ever official flavour taster.

Hollie Phimister, a 22 year-old marketing executive, is one of just three people to be shortlisted in a nationwide competition to find a Seabrook Champion, who will test out the Bradford-based brand’s future flavours for a whole year.

The company said it had been “inundated” with fun films from fans describing why their taste buds and expertise would be perfect for the role.

Miss Phimister’s quirky entry revealed her true love for Seabrook Crisps via a tongue-in-cheek parody of a romantic comedy style film, entitled ‘Love at First Bite’.

The piece finishes with the wedding of Miss Phimister to her Seabrook groom as the pair are showered with crisps instead of confetti.

The film has now been posted on the Seabrook Crisps Facebook page, along with the other two shortlisted films from Janine Allen from Rotherham, and Chris Wilks from Huddersfield.

Followers are invited to ‘like’ their favourite film to crown the overall champion.

The three finalists will each receive a year’s supply of their favourite Seabrook Crisps crinkle cut flavour, equating to a whopping 384 packets in total.

The winner will join the Seabrook product development team on three or four occasions across the coming year, sampling exclusive new flavours before they hit the supermarket shelves.

They will also be treated to a VIP tour of the firm’s factory on Duncombe Street in Bradford.

“I can’t believe I’ve been shortlisted,” said Miss Phimister.

“The few people who I shared the video with said I could be in with a good chance, but I didn’t think it would actually happen.

“Becoming the official Seabrook Champion would be a dream come true. Getting that insight into new flavours would be pretty special to me.

“Being as much of a Seabrook fan as I am, I’ve always wanted to go on a tour of the factory, it’s definitely on my bucket list.

“I’m a Yorkshire lass and proud that Seabrook is Yorkshire too.”

Seabrook Crisps marketing director, Kevin Butterworth, said: “We’re delighted with the response to the Seabrook Champion competition and loved watching all of the clips from our dedicated fans.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to work with a true fan to help develop our range even further.

“Good luck to all of those who have made the shortlist.”
