BINGLEY artist Andy Shaw will be taking a collection of his scrap metal sculptures to the acclaimed Staithes Arts and Heritage Festival on Yorkshire's east coast next month.
Bradford-born Mr Shaw, 37, uses re-claimed industrial and metal materials to create bespoke pieces and took up his hobby almost 20 years ago after qualifying as a mechanical engineer.
His project, called Bits and Bolts Art , has worked on a range of commissions including a 78 stone eight foot monster based on the film Predator.
"When I started working with tools and machinery, I found that 3D artwork was really interesting to me," said Mr Shaw.
"I could use the skills I was developing in metalwork to use the discarded components from projects I was working on in my spare time.
"I still feel as passionately about reusing materials and I have a three-year-old son who loves dinosaurs, so a few prehistoric characters have appeared in my workshop recently. He brings me his plastic dinosaurs to tell me which one I should recreate next."
As part of the Staithes Festival of Arts and Heritage, Mr Shaw's work will be shown in Lahney Cottage High Barrass.
This year 130 artists with work including painting, printmaking, textiles, ceramics, jewellery and crafts will be at the festival using local cottages as temporary galleries over the weekend starting Friday, September 9.
