SMASH hit musical Wicked has flown into Bradford for a five-week-long run.
The show opens at The Alhambra tonight and it’s the only chance to see it outside London this year.
The West End and Broadway musical phenomenon tell the story of how two sorcery students, Elphaba and Glinda, came to be the Witches of Oz. Their extraordinary adventures will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
The show is based on the best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire that re-imagined the stories and characters created n The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Featuring the songs Defying Gravity and Popular, the show sets off to Singapore for an international tour after its Alhambra run.
It stars Jacqueline Hughes as Elphaba, Carly Anderson as Glinda and former Brookside actor Steven Pinder.
Wicked runs at The Alhambra until August 21. Call 01274 432000 for tickets.
