FIVE people were taken to hospital after a house fire in Bradford in the early hours of this morning.
Fire crews from Bradford and Fairweather Green were called to the incident in Upper Woodlands Road, Manningham, just before 1am.
Initial reports had indicated that a family may have been trapped in the property, but a woman and four children had managed to escape safely before fire crews arrived.
They were taken to hospital by ambulance suffering from smoke inhalation.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze started in the kitchen of the property, although no exact cause was given.
The property had been fitted with smoke detectors, which were activated and alerted the family to the fire.
