A NUMBER of lecturers at the University of Bradford began a two day strike yesterday over pay.
But the university said the impact of the national strike was "minimal" - most of the students at the university have now finished for the year.
The University and College Union had organised the strike after they deemed a 1.1 per cent pay rise offered by the universities as an "insult" and claimed there was an unfair gender pay gap in the nation's universities.
Yesterday morning there was a protest outside the University of Bradford's before members of the union travelled to Leeds for a rally in the city centre.
Joanne Marshall, Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development at the University of Bradford said: “The impact of the strike on university business is minimal with services continuing as normal.”
The strike will continue today.
