Richard Godfrey breathed life into Woodlands' season as they knocked Farsley off the top of the JCT 600 Bradford League Second Teams Division One table.

It was only the defending champions' third league win of the season and was set up by a fine 101 from Godfrey as Woodlands made 286 for nine, skipper Phil Walker also making 78.

Godfrey followed up by taking four for 63 as Farsley were dismissed for 255, opener Barry Frankland hitting a superb 115. He put on 127 for the first wicket with young Theren Modley (37) but Farsley could not build on the platform.

Lightcliffe seized on Farsley's defeat to go nine points clear at the top after beating East Bierley by 84 runs.

Veteran Roger Stead produced a fine all-round performance, making 36 with the bat and taking four for 24 with the ball.

His runs enabled Lightcliffe to build on the good work of opener Robert Crookes (53) as a score of 198 for nine was made despite the efforts of East Bierley skipper Matthew Anderson (5-37). East Bierley's batting was disappointing and they were dismissed for 114.

Umar Rehman took six for 64 as Hanging Heaton bowled out Pudsey Congs for 138 to secure a 12-run win.

That Congs got so close was due to their skipper Michael Oldfield, who made an unbeaten 48 batting at number ten. Earlier, Michael Smith (48) and Howard Ellis (32) had helped Hanging Heaton to make 150 for nine.

Baildon slid into the relegation places as they lost by eight wickets at Keighley, Robert French (5-33) and Jake Hoyle (3-28) helping to bowl the visitors out for 137 before opener Andrew Waggett hit an unbeaten 79 in reply.

Gomersal lifted themselves off the bottom when they defeated Pudsey St Lawrence by seven wickets.

Opener Usman Salin made a sparkling 130 not out and was joined in a second-wicket partnership of 145 by Alan Sum-ner (66) as Gomersal eased past Saints' score of 252 for seven. Opener James Milligan hit 114 for the Pudsey side as Gomersal's Ryan Kitson took four for 32.

Saltaire continued their revival by beating Bowling Old Lane by five wickets, Nadeem Mohammed enjoying a fine match by taking four for 13 and making 41. Old Lane were dismissed for 132 despite 48 from Shaid Alishan.

Yeadon remain rooted to the bottom following their two-wicket defeat by Esholt. Masaver Massadique made 70 to guide Esholt past Yeadon's score of 182.

Manningham Mills stretched their lead in Division Two to seven points after beating Windhill by 112 runs to collect a maximum 20 points.

Opener Mohammad Faisal scored 102 as Mills made 256 all out before Windhill were dismissed for 144 despite 78 from Tahir Amin. Amjad Tariq (3-32) and Syed Ahmed (3-31) were the main wicket-takers.

Second-placed Cleckheaton dismissed Idle for just 95 as they cruised to a nine-wicket win. Teenage all-rounder Marcus Walmsley took three for 14 and followed it up by cracking 62.
