A DRIVER has been arrested after two people were injured in a crash in Manningham, Bradford.

One woman had to be cut out of her car after the accident on Friday night.

It happened in Heaton Road, at about 7.30pm.

A fire and rescue crew from Bradford station had to remove the vehicle's roof to get to the woman driver who was complaining of neck and back pain. Paramedics were also on the scene and she was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary.

Inspector Tom Horner, of the Bradford West Neighbourhood Policing Team, said a red Toyota sports car had been overtaking another vehicle when it was involved in a collision with an oncoming car causing damage to it and the vehicle it was overtaking.

He said two people from the vehicles received minor injuries and were treated at hospital. The Toyota then drove off but was in collision with two parked cars and also caused damage to a wall and fence on a neighbouring property.

Insp Horner said: "The driver of the car left the scene on foot.

"A 31-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at a road traffic collision. He was later released on police bail pending further inquiries."
