Emergency services are still at the scene in Fair Road, Wibsey, near B&M Motors. The accident happened shortly before 10.30am and a driver and passenger in a cab were injured.

The man is understood to have come from a red Seat Leon which was in a collision with the mini cab and a parked blue Peugeot.

A cab driver and passenger have gone to Bradford Royal Infirmry with minor injuries, said a West Yorkshire Police spokesman who put out the appeal for the man believed to have come from the Seat Leon.

One woman who works at a nearby garage said: “We’ve had a customer in saying there’s been a bad crash on the road going into the village. We’ve heard lots of sirens, police, ambulance and fire engines going by so it must be bad.”

A spokesman for Great Horton Everywhere private hire car said: "We don’t know too much just yet. We’re waiting for the boss to come. I’ve got 20 phones ringing with people wanting to know what’s happened. We’re waiting to find out more.”
