PLANS to turn an Asian clothing shop on Leeds Road into an Italian restaurant have been submitted to Bradford Council.
The two storey clothing store, 1212 Leeds Road, is subject to a change of use planning application by Yasin Rehman, who says the restaurant would add more diversity to the food offer in the area.
The application says: "This part of Leeds Road has become an established restaurant area, consisting mainly of Asian restaurants. In more recent times the choice of restaurant has become more diversified and the applicant's intention is to create an Italian Restaurant.
"The overall simple appearance of the building, with its large arched windows, lends itself to a restaurant use, and the style of the building has an Italianate feel."
The application says the restaurant opening hours would be from noon until 11pm.
Planners will decide whether to approve the change of use next month.
