A 30-YEAR-OLD man caught with 71 cannabis deals in his silver BMW has been sentenced to eight months imprisonment, suspended for two years, with 100 hours of unpaid work.

Mohammed Saleem, of Spencer Street, Keighley, pleaded guilty to possession of the Class B drug with intent to supply it on June 9 last year.

Bradford Crown Court heard today that Saleem was seen on the phone while driving in Bradford Road, Keighley, at 7.30pm.

He had a large amount of cash in the car as well as two bags of cannabis, concealed in air vents at the front of the vehicle.

Saleem's barrister, Yunus Valli, said his client had changed his life since he was jailed for eight months in September last year for causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The Recorder of Bradford, Judge Roger Thomas QC, said it was tempting to send Saleem back to prison but he may have learned his lesson after serving the recent prison sentence.
