IN a bid to boost the of care services a Saltaire based group is throwing open the doors of its state of the art training centre to competitors.
Czajka Care Group will also providing its training courses to other care home operators throughout the region.
The company, which owns and operates five nursing and care homes, has won training contracts with a number of homes across Bradford and Keighley as well as hiring its training centre to a wide range of organisations including the NHS, which now uses it on a weekly basis.
Courses include manual handling, new care standards and adult protection safeguarding. The company also provides a four day training course in induction standards, which covers subjects including first aid, health and safety, infection control, communications, client confidentiality, palliative care and food hygiene.
Konrad Czajka, managing director, said: “Czajka Care Group has been at the forefront of the local care industry for more than 20 years and much of our success is based on our ability to train our 350 strong team to an exceptionally high standard.
"This led to us launching the Czajka Training Centre 45 years ago. The centre is managed by a team of care professionals, who all have vast amounts of experience working in the care industry and are qualified to deliver an extensive range of courses that can have an immediate impact on the standard of service that care homes offer.”
Training manager, Margaret Watkins, who has worked at Czajka Care Group for 26 years adds: “The external courses we offer are proving to be hugely successful with clients who want us to provide training on their premises as well as those that prefer to utilise our training centre and its facilities.
"We can cater for any number of employees, from small groups up to a maximum of 32 at any one time. All the courses we provide are fully certified and candidates can also use them as a pathway to go on to complete NVQs and other professional qualifications.”
Czajka Care Group owns and operates Fairmount Nursing Home, Brookfield Care Home and Staveley Birk Leas Nursing Home, which are all in Nab Wood, as well as Currergate Nursing Home in Steeton and Beanlands Nursing Home in Cross Hills.
Czajka also provides purpose built retirement homes and at The Clubhouse at Fairmount Park, at Nab Wood.
Last year Czajka Care Group sold its home-based care operations to national business Sevacare in a deal which saw 170 staff transfer to Midlands-based Sevacare, which has an office on North Parade, Bradford.
