Families can discover what lies beneath their feet at a combined archaeology and geology event at Oakwell Hall and Country Park in Birstall.
Under Oakwell', on Sunday from 11am to 4pm, is a free event being held with the help of the West Yorkshire Archaeology Service and the Huddersfield Geology Group.
There will be a geology walk, a quiz, jewellery and clay pot making, and rocks, mineral and fossil displays.
There will also be a mini dig', using a sand tray and reproductions of artefacts, and visitors can visit the site of a real dig.
