A Bradford MP has returned after a gruelling ten-day Parliamentary trip looking at the impact Britain has on reducing poverty and improving lives overseas.
Bradford West MP Marsha Singh made the trip with colleagues on the International Development Select Committee to examine the impact the department for International Development (DFID) is having.
The group, who never spent more than one night in any hotel, were constantly on the move, visiting various places across Vietnam and Thailand.
During the trip Mr Singh met ambassadors, officials, people suffering with HIV, visited schools, and examined conditions in Thai and Burma refugee camps, among other things.
He said: "We found that DFID's contribution is very worthwhile and poverty levels are coming down, and we hope they will continue to reduce."
