A COUNCILLOR has tackled problems plaguing the former Braithwaite School site, in Keighley.
Cllr Adrian Farley, who represents Keighley West ward on Bradford Council, took action after residents of nearby streets including Braithwaite Road expressed concerns.
He said: “I have contacted the police about complaints regarding underage drinking on the site.”
“Trees have now been cut back and residents are pleased they can see again.
“This week the council's clean team went onto the site and removed 1.6 tonnes of detritus and rubbish.
“Hoping the site can remain clean and tidy as a lot of people walk through it.”
The work follows Cllr Farley’s success in getting overgrown trees cut on the site of the former Brontë Middle School in Oakworth Road and Bankfield Walk in Braithwaite.
Cllr Farley said trees along the perimeter of the former school site had caused a nuisance for residents over the past year.
