THE trial of two men accused of murdering Bradford grandfather Clement Desmier may be brought forward a week to February 29, a packed courtroom heard today.
David Lawler, 32, and Nathan Jefferson, 20, were brought from custody to Bradford Crown Court for a case management hearing.
Their trial had been fixed to begin on March 7 next year but Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC was told that it might be moved forward by up to seven days.
The case could be heard in either Bradford or Leeds and may be tried by High Court Judge Mr Justice Globe.
Lawler, of HMP Wealstun, and Jefferson, of Springwell View, Holbeck, Leeds, were remanded back into custody.
Mr Desmier, 68, was found dead at his home, in Rowlestone Rise, Greengates, in August, 2012.
He had suffered a number of injuries, including stab wounds.
