THE captain of Yorkshire County Cricket Club visited Marie Curie’s Bradford hospice to meet business people from the district and Leeds.

Andrew Gale, whose family has received support from Marie Curie nurses in the past, cycled from Yosemite to San Francisco in 2011 to raise money for Marie Curie, but this visit was his first to the hospice.

While there he met with the hospice manager, Elaine Hill (pictured with him) and spoke to local business people about the club’s recent success and aspirations for the future and regaled them with stories and sporting anecdotes.

Siobhan Drane, Partnership Manager for Marie Curie, said: "We’d like to say a big thank you to Andrew for taking the time to visit the hospice and for helping Marie Curie to raise awareness of the wonderful services we offer - both here at the hospice in Bradford and across Yorkshire in people’s own homes. I would also like to thank Chris Allen, Managing Partner at Blacks Solicitors LLP in Leeds, for his personal involvement in making this happen and sponsoring the lunch."
