A BRADFORD housing association is celebrating after winning three prizes at a national awards ceremony.

Manningham Housing Association (MHA) awards, based in Manor Row, won the treble at the Customer Scrutiny Inspection (CSI), which recognises the work carried out by tenants across the country.

The group took home the landlord of the year prize, which was voted for by its customers, most inspiring scrutiny panel (small landlord) and most inspiring designated panel - complaints panel accolades.

Its complaints learning forum was also highly commended in the most inspiring complaints panel category.

Ulfat Hussain, director of customer services at Manningham Housing Association, has praised his staff after the triple prize victory.

He said: "Over recent years we have been really committed and focused on increasing customer satisfaction and working with our customer scrutiny panel to look at all aspects of the services we provide and how they can be improved.

"There's been a lot of time, effort and dedication from our customer scrutiny panel and our staff that is behind these awards.

"We have recently achieved the Customer First award and gained a 92 per cent customer satisfaction result.

"I feel such a sense of pride but also contentment that all the hard work that we have all put in is now paying off and our customers are able to feel the results and our work has been nationally recognised."

MHA, which started in 1986, provides more than 1,400 affordable homes across the Bradford district and Keighley.

It started after a piece of research undertaken into the housing needs of black and Asian communities in Bradford. The research was sponsored by the Bangladeshi Youth Organisation based in Bradford.

The Association is a specialist black and minority ethnic (BME) association operating across the Bradford district.

Meanwhile, fellow Bradford social housing provider, Incommunities, was highly commended in the most inspiring newcomers for its customer scrutiny panel.

The CSI awards recognise organisations whose scrutiny panels demonstrated a track record of achievements, independence, partnership and excellent communications.
