A HUMBLE county food favourite will be celebrated next week with a special day in its honour.
Yorkshire Pudding Day is on Tuesday, October 13.
The Royal Society of Chemistry invited scientist Dr John Emsley to share his scientific and Tyke-bred knowledge of the Sunday roast accompaniment.
"It's in the blood and instinct of people born and raised there. A Yorkshire pudding isn't a Yorkshire pudding if it is less than four inches tall," he said.
Sir Gary Verity, the chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: "We are proud of Yorkshire’s much-loved signature dish, the Yorkshire Pudding, and what better way to celebrate it than to dedicate a day to one of our favourite foods."
