A DEAD horse which was left to decompose in a field for over a week has been removed.
The horse (pictured), which was at the bottom of a verge near the railway line in Thornbury, had been left by its owner for over a week, but after action from Leeds City councillor Andrew Carter the horse has finally been disposed of.
Cllr Carter (Calverley and Farsley, Con) said it wasn’t the first time something like this had happened, and the owners of the land - who have now disposed of the carcass - were fed up with it.
“The police need to take down the owners of these horses and prosecute them,” Cllr Carter said.
