BRADFORD Council is set to build 16 new affordable homes in Barkerend after the development was granted permission by planning officers.
The project, a mixture of three-bed and two-bed rental properties, is situated on the site of the former Milton House Care Home, which was demolished in 2013, on Avenham Way, off New Otley Road.
The houses will be arranged around a central square, linking up with existing footpaths and entrance to the site from Avenham Way.
The development forms part of more than 500 new affordable homes due to be built across the Bradford district by 2018, thanks to £12 million in grants from the Homes and Communities Agency announced last year.
