SOCIAL landlord Yorkshire Housing has acquired a new development of 11 apartments at Skipton’s redeveloped Belle Vue Mills site after being advised by Bradford and Leeds law firm Gordons.

The one and two-bedroom apartments, which will become affordable housing, are on the four upper floors of the five-storey Eller House building. They have been acquired from Ilkley-based Burley Developments for an undisclosed sum .

Eller House is the last part of the Belle Vue Mills complex, near Skipton town centre, to be redeveloped with work expected to finish later this summer.

Most of Eller House’s ground floor and its new extension has become a retail unit occupied by Majestic Wine.

Phil Gregory, a partner in Gordons’ commercial property team, who advised Yorkshire Housing on the acquisition and development of the scheme, said: “We are very pleased to have been able to act for Yorkshire Housing on this project. We’re now looking forward to working together with them on future projects. ”

A Grade II-listed building, Eller House was built in 1864 as a warehouse. It has been unoccupied since being vacated in 2005, like the rest of the Belle Vue Mills site, by Kingsley Cards.

Yorkshire Housing owns and manages more than 18,000 social and affordable homes throughout the region.
