TWO MEN from the Bradford district have been sentenced for the part they played in trying to dispose of cash.

A two-year police investigation, led by Lancashire Police's Serious and Organised Crime Unit, focused on the supply of heroin and cocaine on the streets of Burnley, Nelson, Colne and the wider region.

Eleven members of the drugs gang were sentenced to a total of more than 60 years for their roles in a conspiracy to supply Class A drugs with a street value of around £1.8m in Lancashire.

The Bradford men escaped jail sentences over money laundering offences.

Carl Daniels, 40, of Bela Avenue, Dudley Hill, Bradford pleaded guilty to being concerned in the movement of £60,000 in criminal property and was sentenced to 40 weeks imprisonment suspended for two years and 200 hours unpaid work.

Mohammed Azad, 60, of Carlton Walk, Shipley was found guilty of being concerned in the movement of £60,000 in criminal property and was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment suspended for two years and 200 hours unpaid work.

More than 18 premises were searched, including in the Barnoldswick area.
