DETECTIVES today released details of three Bradford men they are hunting following a fatal hit-and-run crash last night.

The men are wanted on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a 25-year-old man died after being hit by a blue Volkswagen Golf while he was crossing Stanningley Bypass, by the junction with Houghley Lane in Leeds shortly before midnight.

The wanted men have been named as Majid Malik, aged 27, Adnan Ahmed, aged 29, and Kesser Hussain, aged 22.

Police named the man who died as James Gilbey, aged 25, of Bramley.

The Golf, registration LC07NNX, was travelling towards Pudsey at the time of the collision.

Detective Chief Inspector Elizabeth Belton, of West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: "It is absolutely vital that we trace these men as soon as possible and I am appealing to the public to help us establish their current whereabouts.

"We are certain that these men are aware that they are wanted in connection with this incident and that they are deliberately evading the police and might be attempting to leave the country.

"James’s family have been informed about his death today and they are understandably devastated and clearly need to know why he has been taken from them in these circumstances.

"We urgently need to hear from anyone who knows where these men are or who has any information that could assist us in tracing them.

"The blue Volkswagen Golf is still outstanding and we would like to hear from anyone who knows the current whereabouts of that vehicle. The car will have significant damage to the front of it and a smashed windscreen."
