POLICE arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of the theft of bottles of beer that ended up smashed all over the pavement outside shops.
The man, from Manningham, Bradford, was held after the bottles were taken from a shop in Sunbridge Road, in the city centre, near Centenary Square.
Police were called shortly before 3pm today. The man was being questioned by police last night.
A large crowd had gathered to watch the aftermath of the incident, with a clean-up operation taking place on the pavement adjacent to Centenary Square.
