VETERANS' groups gathered outside City Hall today to mark the start of Armed Forces Week.
Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Joanne Dodds, raised a flag in Centenary Square as the City Hall clock struck 11am.
Rev Canon Sam Corley, chaplain to Royal British Legion, gave a short speech about the importance of remembering the contribution of those who serve.

He said: "We meet here to mark the beginning of a series of events and commemorations as we celebrate the contribution of our armed forces to the security of this nation and indeed working towards world peace, not just in our current age but also of course recognising the contribution of people down through the decades."
He led prayers, before veterans were invited into City Hall for refreshments.
